9TH MAY 2024 - LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY - NSW PARLIAMENT
Ms LIZA BUTLER (South Coast) (16:30): I recognise Gwen Johnson for her 40 years of dedicated service to Milton Ulladulla Football Club. Gwen's journey began in the late 1970s, not only as a parent but also as a transformative figure who has gone on to leave a lasting legacy. In the early 1980s, Gwen served as the club's treasurer, and in 1985 her visionary leadership led to the formation of our very first women's soccer team. As a player, coach and mentor, Gwen has not only shaped the club's culture but also fostered talent and promoted inclusivity, particularly through the primary school girls soccer program she initiated in 1995. Gwen's unwavering commitment and passion have touched the lives of countless individuals, inspiring a sense of community and camaraderie. Gwen embodies the spirit of grassroots football, demonstrating the profound impact it can have on individuals and communities. I thank Gwen for her incredible contributions over the past 40 years.
